selling house with pets

We have a dog and 3 cats. We are going to get rid of dog for viewings.

Do most ppl tend to be put off by houses with pets. Will clean carpets before viewings

i wouldn't think so unless the house is smelly... i'm not great with dogs so wouldn't necessarily want to be followed around by a rottweiler on a viewing, but don't think most people would be worried by a few cats, and a dog can always be kept out of the way during viewings as you say.

i've got 3 kids, and try to get rid of them whilst i'm doing viewings on my house at the moment ... they are WAY more smelly and offensive than my cat

smell, food bowls, beds, toys and cat litter trays. Oh and make sure you've cleaned up after the dogs outside.

it's a pain (have pets and tried to sell house 18 months back) but is worth it.

Personally I think a cat curled up on the sofa makes a place look cosier

no litter tray and clean up after dog/cats in back garden

if it helps, my brother has just bought a house with 2 cats in situ as the owners can't take them with when they emigrate... so it might even be a selling point

I spent the weekend stepping over dog poo in houses up for sale. It wasn't much fun.

Nearly time for ours to go on the market - not sure the 5 parrots (one of who is free range) and 1 fluffy rabbit are going to help...

I've had 2 large dogs and 2 cats around the last twice I've moved. Has been fine

Ask an honest friend if the house smells of pets, and if so get the carpets cleaned.

Clear the garden of dog poo - really important that it is completely clear.

The dogs either got taken to the park or put in the car for viewings.

All bowls and beds hidden from view.

Houses sold within a week - not sure I could have kept this up for longer!
