Bathroom inspiration needed.

After 3.5 years of having an unfinished bathroom, things are moving and it should be completed in the next few weeks. However, when we decided on decor ect,it was a few years back and I don't want to find that it is dated as soon as it is finished,so am having a rethink.

It is a small family bathroom in a 1960's house,in a small village.Industrial high tec is going to look rubbish and isn't our thing, neither of us like frilly fussy stuff.DH did tile the floor and walls in fake limestone tiles, which looked ok,but were very cold, and were impossible to clean. These are all having to be removed and rather than buy a better quality in the same style,I'm wondering if things have moved on and there is something better/more imaginative out there.

If it helps,we are never planning on moving from here,so don't need to make it attractive to buyers in the future. The suite is plain white with chrome taps and we'd prefer vinyl on the floor rather than tiles. The room is about 9 x7 ft.

I'd be really grateful for any advice.
Thanks.

Pannacotta posted this blog on a previous thread, for a bit of inspiration.

Grendelsmum, thankyou. The rooms on there are just lovely.Actually,it has inspired me.We will have a blank wall with just a radiator on it and nothing else.I'm tempted to get a big pictureblown up of the Las Vegas skyline from our photo collection and just about fill the wall with it.We were married there so it has happy memories for us.

Right, now we have a start,I'll have a think what else we can do.
