Can I get a fabric cover for my old trusty and still very comfortable leather sofa?

It's still in really good nick but it's dark blue and I am trying to lighten the room. Will a fabric cover work or will it just slip off? Where to start looking?

You could have very fitted loose covers made and, if you/they, fixed something like a very thin layer of foam round the cushions and frame of the sofa, that would stop the new covers sliding.

Speak to an upholstery company and they will either be able to make them up themselves or point you in the right direction.

Thanks lala. Didn't think of custom-made. There's one in town and I'm going in tomorrow lunchtime. Sounds a bit pricey - but no harm in asking.

The labour isn't too bad generally - but you always need an astounding amount of fabric in my experience (and the stuff I like is always at least #40 a metre Shock).

See if there is a refurbishment company near you, we had our leather sofas refurbished when we got them off my sister one cushion was damaged by her Shopping and the dog. They renewed all the cushions and webb, they also would have recovered in different leather if we wanted, they do lots of pubs so a couple of sofa's was easy
