Farrow and Ball All White

Im giving kitchen a mini makeover. Basically new tiles and a paint job as we cant afford to do the whole things.

The tiles are dark mushroom (almost grey) and want the walls to be white but not as stark as Dulux brilliant white.

The room is north facing and quite dark. Does anyone know what F&B all white is like and would it work in a darkish room. Thanks!

its white. sorry, have it and not really different colourwise from brilliant white save for the finish.

Is the finish 'better' though. that probably makes nooo sense. I mean do you look and think 'oooh thats Farrow and Ball'

Thinking maybe wimborne white instead - is that very creamy?

ps. the room that its linked too is New White. that would be too 'yellow' with the tiles I think

Pointing looks lovely too - and James white (thats it I promise - no more- not going to work through the colour card and just write the names down here !! :-)) but wonder if James white is too dark.

James white does come out quite green. Would that work with the tiles?

LemonDifficult · 24/01/2011 20:09

P.S. Have the F&B card beside me

kizzie · 24/01/2011 20:21

thats really useful - thanks LD. Def no then to james white. greenish wouldnt work

So down to : all white, wimbourne white or pointing.

can you link to tiles?

kizzie · 24/01/2011 20:26

Just trying to find a link. Basically they are the closest I could find to the ones I loved in fired earth

ok - its these tiles in cement - but in reality the tiles actually look most like 'steel'. (The cement ones on line look too grey - not a true likeness)

actually more like a darker biscotti in 'real life' - like a very dark mushroom

I think probably Wimborne. Pointing may look too pinky warm with mushroom.

I love an All White look but it will feel cold after New White. Quite 'below stairs' - is this a vibe you are going for?

kizzie · 24/01/2011 20:37

I think you're right about New white. Grin re. 'below stairs' vibe.

Will get a wimborne tester tomorrow - but hopefully that will work. Thanks for looking for me!

The tiles are sooo close to the ones i wanted in Fired earth - really pleased with them. And almost didnt look in Homebase as thought they wouldnt have any like them.

That's fab about the tiles.

Good luck with the whites. I love getting testers up!
