Can anyone recommend a good one (lettings and sales). Have been browsing the ESPC and have called a few agents re: properties seen on the site but strangely none have got back to me re: enquiries - they must be doing a very brisk business up there.

ESPC isn't much cop for lettings I don't think - they only have a few on at any time. I think the lettings market is very brisk TBH, especially for good family flats and houses. I would definitely recommend you move quickly when you see something you like as we lost two possible rentals because we thought about it for a day then they were gone.

I found the lettings companies really unhelpful when I contacted them directly - they all just said to look on CityLets and that everything they had would be on there. I contacted lots of them with our details and what we were looking for, the fact that we were ready to go with deposits, references etc and to let us know if anything came on but no word from anyone.

CityLets updates daily so just look there each day and see what's new; Rettie put stuff on their site on Weds and Fridays as far as I can remember but they can take another day or so to get on CityLets.

I would have thought you would get a quicker response in terms of interest in properties for sale as the market is still slow, but maybe not! Hope this is some help.

Called Rettie today and they were a bit detached, no sense of urgency. Will keep checking Citylets.

Definitely - for lets CityLets is the one I think. The only place I found that doesn't advertise there is Ryden but they don't seem to have much residential stuff anyway.

You could also try Gumtree - we viewed one house that was advertised there (that wasn't on CityLets) but it wasn't great and was more studenty than family, if you know what I mean.

It wouldn't hurt to call other agencies though and see if anyone can tip you off before stuff goes online. They might be feeling more helpful than when I tried!

I think from your previous posts you're looking for a family house/poss flat, so you'd be looking for the same sort of thing as we were. I found these letting agents had the kind of place we were looking for more than others (no particular order)

Hope you find something great soon.

Thanks Tiokiko. DJ Alexander guy was ok as well. He pencilled me in to see flat very close to Flora Stevenson school on Tuesday.

Where are you?(I think you've mentioned in another thread) How are you settling in?
