Is anyone here good with paint colours? I'm trying to decide on the wall colour for my snug - we are going to be having sort of mint/eau de nil colour curtains, and a cherry red sofa. I really want white, but am being told by DH, father etc that its cold, will get dirty quickly (it'll be the children's/family room, used a lot). So I could go for white with a hint of.... but not sure what to hint. The look I like is on the Ikea link below - the red one is our sofa, and the window coverings are similar in colour. Very fresh.

room set no. 9

What do you think??

White or a chalky white (not creamy). With re to the hint of colours, be warned that these come out much darker than you would think. If you do go with a colour,I would go as pale as possible with the tone of the curtains so maybe Dulux Mint Whisper or Nordic Spa depending on the curtains and how pale they appear in reality.

just buy a silk paint and it'll wipe clean

Thanks, chalky white sounds good. I do like Dulux (Trade if poss), so what type of white should I look for (eg. Yellowy, Greeny). I am so bad at this!

I like grey - particularly fond of (excuse the name) Elephant's Breath by Farrow & Ball. I don't really like things matching so I wouldn't try to blend a colour to your curtains, but that's me.

Definitely not a yellowy white.
