My Bathroom is being ripped out tomorrow - got to get used to only 1 loo for a bit!

This could be fun Grin

DH has a habit of taking his book / laptop / ipad / anything to keep him company to the loo for VERY long sessions!

DD is at Uni, so one less problem, and I know we are lucky to have another loo + shower even, but the thought of mornings and 3 of wanting to get ready with 1 loo are a bit worrying.

Any experience / tips?

PS- am very excited about losing the coloured suite though :)

No really a major dilemma really.

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 18/01/2011 19:15

well I've never had a second bathroom/toilet and now there are six of us in the house

surely you and dh can share anyway

whos number three, a small child? no problem

shitmonster · 18/01/2011 19:19

This must surely be a first world problem Hmm

Milliways · 18/01/2011 19:23

No3 is a Teen as tall as me.

I know we don't really have a problem, but you do get used to spare bathrooms. Our last house had 3 loos! (cloakroom, ensuite + bathroom).

I don't mind sharing the shower room, but only 1 of us can sit on the throne at a time, and DH doesn't do quick. Suppose he's going to have to learn.

Actually, I am just excited about getting a new bathroom, old one is literally falling apart.

Well you could maybe get a Portaloo o/s for DH?

(could be a bit chilly though)

Milliways · 18/01/2011 19:31

Haha NormanTebbit Grin

(Just imagining DH's face when I present him with a MN Camping Bucket to use).

I Know IABVU to even consider this a problem, before anyone else says it.

Do you frequently all need to go to the loo at exactly the same time.

Not sure what height has to do with one loo?

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 18/01/2011 19:33

when do you need the loo at the same time

dh can loo whilst you shower and vice versa
it is a non problem

sounds like you just wanted to go YAY about your new bathroom

Hope you love it Smile

greedychops · 18/01/2011 19:33

We are getting our bathroom ripped in a few weeks time to get a damp proof course put in, and we have no spare bathroom. Ds1 is 3. Ds2 I luckily still in nappies.

I'd love to have a spare place to pee other than a bucket.

Blatant boasting by stealth. - 10 points.

TheMonster · 18/01/2011 19:36

my heart bleeds Hmm

Milliways · 18/01/2011 19:36

Chofleur, it is just that mad half hour when everyone gets up and dives into the loo, and also wants a shower.

We all get up between 6 & 6:30, DS leaves house at 7:30, DH & I by 8am.

Height was because someone asked if DS was a small child.

and ... ?

Milliways · 18/01/2011 19:40

Yes, I am V sorry, I AM excited. Didn't mean to boast, sorry if I offended anyone

Our bathroom currently has a loo that often needs a bucket thrown down it to make it flush, a plug that doesn't stay in the sink & a shower attachment that leaks. It has a horrible carpet and when we asked a tiler for a quote he sad wasn't worth it until such an old suite came out as tiles would get damaged and it wouldn't last musch longer (that was years ago).

I will go away now.

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 18/01/2011 19:41

that really is shit loads of time and you and dh can loo and shower together

chill duuuude it will be fine, you probably wont even notice

HettyAmaretti · 18/01/2011 19:44

It's nice that you're excited, I would be. It's just the boasting by stealth thing.

(Oh and you probably know by know, but just in case, the mystery plant on your profile is a mullein)

Milliways · 18/01/2011 19:47

Thanks Hetty (thought it was a giant Verbena or something??) :)

Take the lock off the door or banish your DH to a Turdis

When he knows how much it costs he'll probably speed up a bit.

Milliways · 18/01/2011 22:08

Turdis! PMSL Grin
