What have house prices done over the last six months, esp in Scotland?

Sorry, this is something of a repeat post to this one, but I'm trying to gauge what the market is doing at the moment.

Thanks!

I think properties are definitely hanging around longer and dropping to fixed prices more often than they used to. Other than that though it's kind of hard to say unless you have recent evidence of what similar houses have sold for...

Thanks :)

Not sure if that's good news for me or not! A nearby house (to the one we want to buy) sold last week for approx £30k less than its August valuation! Shock Obviously it would be great to get the one we want at a lower price, but I just don't think the owners are going to budge on their price, in which case we won't be able to get a mortgage on it. Gah.

Can I ask if it is a three bedroom place you have found? (I am fantasising about living in that area!)

SpawnChorus · 22/01/2011 09:33

Well kind of...it has a teeny weeny nursery room. Just had the survey done and it has all sorts of potential problems Sad

Oops - i am WF!

I guess that gives you more room to negotiate the price then? If the potential probs aren't too scary..

nineyearoldsarerude · 22/01/2011 12:34

ps Is the street G... C...?

SpawnChorus · 22/01/2011 18:43

No, but I would LUUUURVE to live there!

The owners are not open to negotiation, sadly. They need a certain amount to move to wherever they are going.
