Hi,we have just bought a new house, its a blank canvas in terms of colour scheme and is very bright and sunny. We have been looking at ideas for decor etc, but it looks so fresh and airy I dont really want to change it!.Should I work with what we have and go for a light,scandanavian/slighty shabby chic/
french style in furniture and decor. This style is very differnt from our present home so dont know where to start really, sorry for rambling:)x

If you like it the way it is, then leave it. Once you have lived there for a while, then I am sure that inspiration will come.

The milk and honey home is perfectly nice but it's a very layered look that would take a long time (or a lot of money) to produce - lots of bits and bobs. Take your time, what's the rush?

No rush, just excitement:)I do like things to be done/finished though and we will be buying new furniture in next few weeks so would need to know what style to buy.

I do think that, unless you are very experienced at interiors, it's best to live somewhere for a while first and get a stronger idea of the rooms, where the light hits it, where the furniture would be best placed etc. Try to contain yourself a bit if you can Wink.

Thanks,Will try:),but still keep looking for ideas

I agree with lalalonglegs but I know how exciting it can be to move into a new home - you really want to put your own stamp on it. If you like Scandinavian style, I would recommend reading other blogs like -

decor8blog.com/
emmas.blogg.se/
scandinavianretreat.blogspot.com/

These blogs provide massive sources of inspiration for me because I'm a huge fan of Scandinavian/vintage style. My blog really doesn't compare to any of these but there are some pics from our old apartment there, which we decorated in this style.

Best of luck in your new home and enjoy decorating it!

Gasp, igotsoul, your house is super and I love your shop (do you ship cushions to England?).

muminthesun · 15/01/2011 20:49

Thanks Igotsoul ,exactly what I'm looking for!I love those picture of the apartment.

I know I should wait and get a feel for the new house but I like to have a few ideas up my sleeve.(Hides moodboard/scrapbook):)
