Replacing window handles

Wondering if anyone can help...

I'm about to put DD into a bed and it will be under a large window with a handle which is unable to lock.

I've seen online that you can buy replacement handles with locks but have no idea whether these are easy to replace or whether I should call someone out?

Has anyone got any experience in this?

We've just had all the handles in our new house replaced with ones with locks for our home insurance.

We got a locksmith in to do it. It was really quick and they charged us £19 per handle (including labour and VAT).

We probably could have done it ourselves but the fitter did say that often he has to saw down parts of the lock to make them fit - not sure we would have known where to start!

I got a replacement handle on ebay for about £5 when i broke one. It was a few years ago, but im sure if you search on there you will find something suitable.

Depends on the type of handle though, mine was just a matter of getting the right type and screwing it in place.
