I need ideas for playroom decorations

We are converting the garage into a playroom for my DS who has Cerebral palsy so its more of a physio room.
I am in need of ideas I thought about these for when he is crawling for the floor but we have heavey equipment which may leave dents, anyone else have these? what are they like for long term durability etc?

any ideas welcome!

i think they are signifcantly cheaper than the alternative which i presumably the gym style maps so i would give them a try first?

We brought these, there were ok but you need a slip proof mate underneath if they are going on laminate flooring as we had. They looked ok for a while but I walked over them with high heels and the mat never recovered.

haha I don't own a pair of heals so no worry there!
I'm wondering if his chair (which I can't even lift) would damage them too much.

Also ask for a sample so you can do your own testing - explain that is is for a large area.

I had them btw- they collect grime an get sticky. we have hard floors everywhere and the slightest crumb adheres to them.

I think I would agree with Buking that they are not that easy to keep clean (I thought it was just my DC who was very messy).

We had them from ELC and they do dent very easily, plus on laminate they slide.

They are also textured and get grubby on the top but also everything sticks to them underneath too.

We have had ours about 3 years, my two boys are 7 and 4.

Probably not the best then?
Will think of something else.

WHy dont you put in a rubber or lino floor?
Its good over a hard surface and soft for playing on.

that sounds like a good idea, will look into it.
we have no funiture or colour scheme as yet, ds is into night garden so will probably go down that route.

I'm looking at rubber flooring for my bathroom and think it would do well in your room. Have a look at dalsouple and the rubber flooring company.

Can I recommend yo buy some judo mats?

We have a ceramic floor in our family room (fitted before we had kids...) and when DD1 reached the toddling stage, I was really worried about her hitting her head. I wanted to buy those jigsaw mats but they were too hideous to cover the whole floor with so we bought some heavy duty judo mats instead.

They fit together in a similar jigsaw way.

Horrendous colour (green) but has saved two children's heads on many occasion!

We got them on line, BTW.
