Bloody FIL has put hole in my bathroom ceiling.

Agh. We moved into our house 2 weeks ago. Ds1 pulled too hard on the light cord and it came out of the ceiling.

FIL cane round while DH was trying to fix it. What was a 10p chunk of plaster that came out is now a hole bigger than the cord fitting.

To be fair to him, it is just a plaster ceiling. No plaster board, no joist.

There is nothing to attach the bloody thing too!

Plasterer? Builder? Arrgh.

It was an accident waiting to happen and will keep happening. Get an electrician to wire in a normal light socket on the wall outside the bathroom and then, when you have other plastering that needs doing, get plasterer to patch the hole in the ceiling (they use a webbing like material called scrim and then put a very thin layer of plaster over it).

Now why didn't I think of that.

We are getting electrician in in a few weeks. Will add it to the list
