Kitchen Tiles - please help!

My kitchen needs to be tiled - I have plaster flaking off the walls and I'm fed up. But I have no idea what to do.

Surfaces and floor are slate coloured. Cabinets are solid wood (sort of light oaky/ pine). Walls are white - I want white tiles but nothing fiddly or too fancy and not too much grout. What would you do?

I prefer flat tiles too. Have a look on the johnsons tiles website. Some lovely colours there - I have the kiwi ones in the 10 x 20 size.
