New bathrooms - Victoria Plumb?

MollysChambers · 28/12/2010 13:48

Have three bathrooms / shower rooms to re-do.

Was looking at Bathstore but finding myself being tempted by Victoria Plumbs mucho cheapness.

Anyone any experience? Want to make savings where I can but not if the stuff is really rubbishy....

Any other suggestions for online stores?

Its fine.I have a shower room with an energy toilet and basin and walk-in shower with a traditional thermostatic control. The fitments look good but the instructions are terrible and even my very experienced plumbers were puzzled by how to fit the shower tray.We also have had a bath from there. The baths do not include a trap and thay do not fit standard parts - hence plumbers had to adapt a plastic trap [which luckily runs under the bath and is not seen. However said plumbers did agree that the fixtures and fittings are as good as more expensive sanitary ware and are excellent value.I was also lucky that i had agreed a set price before all this.

Ooh thanks.

Bit fiddly but looks good - sounds like it might be worth the savings.

Any one else?

I've also used Plumbworld and found them good, fast delivery and no probs with anything I have ordered.

I'm with keepmum - I had terrible service and wouldn't use them again.

We have a shower tray and surround from Victoria plumb. The instrctions were crap, but the surround and tray are no different in quality than some we looked at in b&q but miles cheaper.

Didn't have to test their customer services tho.

Thanks keepmum

Have read some horror stories online re Victoria Plumb. Was kinda hoping to be persuaded to give them a go as their prices are so reasonable but not willing to take the risk.

Thanks all for your feedback.

Maybe I'm in the minority but we used Victoria Plumb some time ago and had good service - they delivered the wrong bath but collected it and delivered the correct one very quickly.

Hope that helps.

WARNING ABOUT VICTORIA PLUM
Ignore the glowing reviews on Trust Pilot. You can only leave a review within a 12 months period of purchase. We bought a complete bathroom from Victoria Plum. Initially we had problems prior to installation with two cracked toilet bowls and a broken shower tap. My plumber said he would never install a Victoria Plum bathroom again. After installation the bathroom looked great, but fast forward 2 years, both bath taps have broken, the chrome has completely peeled off the shower door handle and brackets. The shower drain cover has also broken and my basin tap has also stated to peel. We are unable to buy replacement parts for the shower so now have to buy a new bathroom suite. The only item still in great condition is the bath, but we then again, we bought that from The Bath Centre. Victoria Plum now offer 5 year warranties on the showers, not much help to me and customers will still need to pay for a plumber to rip out and re-install replacement products so my advice is to stay away and buying from Victoria Plum works out more expensive in the long run
