Anyone had their walls sound proofed?

We live in the South East and are considering sound -proofing an adjoining wall. Was it worth it? Is it a big hassle to do and of course was sit very expensive? Any company recommendations would be welcome too.
TIA

We had a party wall soundproofed. It cost £1000 but was part of the building process. It was definitely money well spent but I'm not sure what it would cost as an individual job.

My mother in law had it done in her living room and still ended up moving house because of noisy neighbours.

Ahh was hoping that it would have made a difference with the noisy neighbours, guess it might just dull the sound.

bumping this as something we are also considering.

£1000 seems a lot- was that for the entire party wall? We are buying a mid terrace but thinking about just doing the party walls in the bedrooms (so 3 walls in total).

oh yikes! I was thinking entire party wall as in that wall in every room in the house that had that wall not just one room! £1000! Hmm maybe not then
