Does anyone have internal PVC sash windows on old property?

We can't afford to replace the whole bay windows with double glazing and we live in a conservation area. We had a good quote for internal secondary glazing PVC sash windows. Has anyone had this done?

We have secondary glazing that is PVC and slides, currently done in the kitchen which was new this year and had made a difference. Just waiting for some more to be done.

We have had sliding internal secondary glazing in a previous property. I am just wondering about the sash windows and if they are as good and if they are ugly.

I'd wait and save up. We had secondary glazing in a house that was listed and it was next to useless. If your home is a conservation area but you are prepared to replace the bay windows with identical wooden double-glazed sashes (most windows except those with very thin glazing bars can be reproduced with double-glazed units), then it won't be a problem getting permission and it will be more efficient and look better. Buy some heavy curtains in the meantime. Also, it may be more affordable than you think - we were quoted #9k by one firm to replace all our sashes, but ended up paying #5k to a local company.
