Where did you get your wardrobes?

We've just moved into our first house and have a distinct lack of furniture. Have managed to find a nice kitchen table, chairs and some drawers on ebay but not having much luck with a wardrobe. Had a look in B&Q and found the choice pretty uninspiring. The only one I thought looked okay seemed ridiculously expensive for what it was.

Any ideas oh wise ones?

Get them built in by a carpenter.

lagrandissima · 19/12/2010 16:38

[www.thefurnituremarket.com]] were fairly reasonable for solid wood ones.

lagrandissima · 19/12/2010 16:38

or even [www.thefurnituremarket.co.uk]

lagrandissima · 19/12/2010 16:39

Ikea - we buy the expensive ones and they're good.

FessaEst · 19/12/2010 18:11

Ours came from pine solutions too. Been pleased with them so far.

gemma4d · 19/12/2010 18:11

OH made ours! Semi-built in ones. It did involve a lot of late nights and swearing, mind.

Bearcat · 19/12/2010 18:12

Sharps - built in. The best £2000 we ever spent for storage in our bedroom.
Couldn't afford it for the boys, but bought kit in Wickes for each boy (maybe 2 yrs apart) and husband fitted himself.
Cost about £500 and £600 for each room.
Youngest son just has a small bedroom, but it transformed his room with floor to ceiling storage solution.

Ikea, we have lovely ones, also bed, drawers and bedside table. Don't listen to the snobs Xmas Wink

I got some of the Ikea pax range which you build in - they have amazing inner bits that you buy as extras such as huge drawers and shoe racks. Completely brilliant but doors are a bit naff - we will have ours sprayed (eventually Grin).
