How many days between exchange and the survey?

Survey is on Wednesday and we are meant to exchange on christmas eve at the latest. Is this really possible? I doubt it but solicitors and exchange agents down the chain are still confident. All that is needed is the mortgage offer, searches and the rest of the paper work all completed.

We know the survey will be fine as its the second survery on the property in 2 months.

It seems very tight to me. What sort of survey was conducted 2 months ago? If it was a full survey, and it brought up nothing at all, then maybe. Usually buyers solicitors have some questions about surveys and searches though.

I imagine it's possible. The housing market isn't exactly jumping at the moment and the solicitor won't be overworked.

We've just bought (moved in 3 weeks ago). Straightforward purchase, no problems with the survey or searches. They couldn't do it that quickly. Largely it was the searches they just came in slowly. It is possible though.

searches are back though so its only the survey and the mortgage offer that the buyers are waiting for. Its our buyers that are setting the very tight deadline so I hope they are pushing it through.

we exchanged 2 weeks after offer accepted. where there's a will (by ALL involved) there's a way!

I think it will be dependent on the bank of our buyers who seem particularly slow - I just don't want more snow as they have used that as an excuse in delaying the survey date and doing the paperwork.
