To paint the ceiling or not bother?

The house was built in 2006 so the ceilings havent been touched since. I am planning the boys room to decorate and the ceiling is ok but you can see where things have been thrown at it. But is it worth bothering as lets face it, they are still going to throw things against it - sticky toys, soft toys etc.

If I patch up will it look patchy. I used that ceiling paint on the lounge and got a terrible paint job that looks horrendus. The painter rec. not using this as its thick and leaves terrible roller marks on flush ceilings.

Should I just leave it?

Ceilings are really easy to do and if you're doing the walls anyway, I'd say do it as well. (Don't think that's what you wanted to hear.)

I'd just do it -- if you've got to clear stuff away from the walls and put a dust sheet down anyway, it's worth it. Just use normal emulsion on a roller with a long handle. I'd say it'll add an hour tops to the overall job and it'll look much better.

I agree - would be silly not to do it while you have all the stuff moved and the painting stuff out. Even if it takes two coats Grin
