We bought one when it was on offer in Homebase a while ago - and wouldn't recommend it. The self cleaning facility didn't work well and it's not that easy to use generally. once the paint was flowing, it was quite good, but it took a lot to get it to that point, there are a limited range of colours available and they don't match the same colour in "normal" paint (so it wasn't quite the same colour as the version in a normal tin).

We said that if we were going to get another, we'd get the smaller portable one - it's not self cleaning but neither is the big one really and it's much more compact and doesn't take up space/trip you up etc.

I had something similar a few years ago. RCY is right, cleaning is the problem. I would never use one for a single room, but I'd just bought a house with nightmare wall colours and needed to get about four coats of magnolia on asap. In that kind of situation it was great.
