Found house, been on market a couple of months and price dropped by 50k last month. Needs a bit of work.
Booked to view next weekend with our builder.
EA rang Friday to say offer had been made and advised that if we are interested to put our offer in.
Put offer in this morning.
EA advised it was lower than the other offer by 'more than a few thousand.'
Like the house but dont want to be played or get into bidding war. WWYD?

I think we were the only ones interested in the property until these other buyers came along, they obviously put in a very low offer initially and the EA thought they would see what our position was.

The vendors wanted a bit more hence the "bidding war" ....Im not stupid and would imagine they lied to us about the level of the other offer, and we could have got it for less without the other interest, however, it did galvanise us to put an offer in and now we have it under offer so I think in a way they did us a favour. Reckon dh would have faffed around forever viewing houses, theres always another house isnt there?

We thought we would get full structural survey done and use it to negotiate further if appropriate..
