Sofa Workshop/Habitat sofas

We need to replace our sofas as they are very tired, and the quotes for new covers mean it's probably cheaper to just buy new.

We've seen some we like in Habitat and Sofa Workshop. Both similarly priced, but I wondered if anyone had bought sofas from there and had any feedback - positive or negative about the quality and how they last. I'd like removable covers as we are expecting our first baby in the new year, just to make it easier to keep clean, DH would like leather, so that's still to be decided.

Thanks

Had very bad experiences with Habitat. They charge you the full amount but don't deliver for 3 months.

In my experience, the cheaper sofa workshop sofas will age very quickly. The expensive ones seem to last and last. You can also get some stain insurance to protect against unruly kids.

We bought a sofa workshop safa 7 years ago. It cost lots of money but is still going strong despite two boisterous kids and cats!

If you are anywhere near Berkshire I highly recommend these people. They are like Sofa Workshop but without the price tag. I got sofas from them ten years ago that look like new. The same style sofas a friend got from SW at the same time look well worn by comparision. They do lots of different styles in whatever upholstery fabric you want.

Obviously if you are nowhere near Berkshire then ignore my post. Grin

Sofa workshop are expensive but very good quality and good customer service.

Very well made products.

I have a leather sofa workshop sofa going strong 10 years on, the only thing I had to do was have the feather back cushions filled up. A friend bough the same sofa in wool at the same time and hers still looks good (disclaimer she doesn't have children)

We have 2 Sofa Workshops sofas bought isn 2004. One looks great but we don't actually use it. The one that is used deteriorated quickly and is very saggy;one of the springs has gone this week so there is actually a hollow under the seat-cushion. I wouldn't use again.

I had to Habitat Sofa beds for 6 years which were great.
