Moving to UK but where?!

Hi, we are moving to the UK next year with work. Finding it very hard to decide where to live within the London area! We have 3 young kids, I'm a sahm.

We need a 3 bed house or apartment within reasonable train commuting distance of the city. The budget is about 1500 per month, is this realistic? Hoping for a nice non religious state school. Also parks, good facilities for kids, things to do.

Any suggestions or advice would be very gratefully received!

I'd suggest looking at places outside the M25, to the east of London. The train times for commuting in to the City from places like Billericay and Chelmsford are only about 30mins and you go straight to Liverpool St (so no faffing on the underground).

You get much more space for your money, plus green space (think lots of country parks, woodland etc.) and there are some very good schools in Essex.
