Hi, I'm going to buy a new rug for my living room but I am stuck and need help Grin

The rug I have at the moment is 120x180 cm and fits in the middle of the rectangle of floor made by the tv stand, the sofas and the wall

The rug I have seen that I like only comes in a smaller size than the one above (which imo is too small and would look silly) or huge in 160x230cm which would leave no floor (laminate) showing between the rug and the sofa and it would butt right up to the tv stand

would that look silly? would it be better to set it so there's a gap between the rug and the sofa and stand the tv stand on the rug so the rugs goes under the tv stand?

Thanks I know in the scheme of things it's not that important, but I just can't make my mind up on my own on this one Confused

I like big rugs and am fine with them going under furniture -- I much prefer it to a little framed island of rug in the middle of a room. Others may disagree [grin.

We put our rugs under the furniture too. Stops them from moving!

Don't like a little 'framed island' either, Heartsease puts it very nicely.

Big rugs are better IMO. Great for when i move into my huge dream home in years to come...!

thanks

ruby my sofa is not on legs it's just kind of flat on the floor so you wouldn't be able to see the wood (well laminate Grin under it, but you would under the tv stand if it got pulled more that way instead iykwim

Heartsease that's the problem exactly the other rugs in my price range in the colour and style I want are all smaller than the current one I have which is only just big enough I think.........I don;t want it to look like a bath mat lol

I think I'll order the bigger one, it's from the argoose so I should be able to return it if it's just not right

But.....is it ok that only one sofa is on it? the other would be about ten inches away from it...hhhmmm I think I may be over thinking this Grin

Yes again WowOoo I am SSSOOO sick of having to pull the current rug back into place even though it has rug grip under it it seems to travel all over the room
