OK, you were all really good when I asked for advice here a while back. I'm now getting serious about looking for places to move to, probably in August 2011, maybe late June early July (or when I've got a job up there really!).

I need areas. All I ask is that they're close to shops/trams/buses (don't REALLY want to have to do a train commute into the city centre!)

I know it'll vary based on where I end up working, so to help a bit, I'll be graduating in film production and want to work in post-production or failing that, photography.

Any advice on nice areas? I've been told to expect to earn £1100pm after tax, so for a 1 (possibly 2 as might be moving with a mate) bedroom flat, what will I get?

ANY advice would be helpful. I've been trying rightmove every few weeks but just know so little about flats/houses etc!

ir eckon you would probably get a cheap house share as there are lots of students.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking, but will landlords go near me for student type shares because I've graduated? I've seen some nice flats on within budget (well the one i've drawn up in my head) so I guess if there's nothing about when the time comes I could look at student lets.

Thanks :)

a lot of places, the students sort it out themselves, the local paper is the manchester evening news, i don't know what the online site is like, it might just send you to a generic search engine

however, perhaps a mumsnetter who lives up there, could send you down a few copies?

here have you seen this website?

Custy those are brilliant! I'd definitely prefer something like that, at least to start with, because I've lived at home all my life and going from that to living alone would be a bit scary! Thanks very much!
