Has anyone used the 'Holland Damp Proofing System'? the one where special ceramic bricks are put in from outside and they wick out the damp.....
Does it work?

yeah it does work but it is really just a green alternative to a chemical DPC and it is more expensive.

One of the selling points is that you dont need to do any filling or redecoration as it is done from outside.

Great in theory but in reality, most people who have had a damp problem will want to redecorate after the problem has been sorted.

They also imply that it is a "complete" solution and that it will solve all problems! Not so and don't fall into that trap .... proper heating, ventilation and waterproofing are all key factors in keeping a building damp free that a dpc won't cover
