How about here. Bit Downton Abbey? Check out the elephant head in the billiards room!

Howsham Hall

Obviously this a property porn thread, I haven't won £112 million!

I want a smallholding. With a charming, ramshackle house. With its own well

scurryfunge · 11/10/2010 16:16

this is what I shall be buying in NZ

ajandjjmum · 11/10/2010 16:19

I think it's probably us who's won - DH refuses to check his tickets so that he can still dream it's him!!! Grin

VivaLeBeaver · 11/10/2010 16:21

Didn't realise that RightMove did oversees property as well

This would do for a holiday home, or one of them anyway.

A smallholding with a stream and a barn and stables and a menage and lots of mature trees and countryside loveliness.

The house would have flagstone floors and proper fireplaces. We'd have a massive kitchen with a proper larder and a huge ancient oak table. Dh would have a 'studio' with all his man crap in.

I'd have a few sheep and pigs for eating and chickens for eggs and ponies and i'd grow veggies and want an orchard.

There would need to be an observatory to house my massive telescopes.

I'd have a new mini countryman and dh would want a ridiculously huge cockmobile.

I would have a laundry lady and I'd pay her really well.

Christmas would be amazing.

I think about this quite a lot.

I want a house with a pillbox in the garden.

I'm not greedy....i'd settle for a spare bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a garden big enough for a tree house, a veg plot and some chickens. and a sea view and a modest music festival

Francagoestohollywood · 11/10/2010 16:54

112 million pounds? Ooooh I'd buy loads!
I'd by a beautiful place in Venice, a flat in Manhattan, one in London and maybe Paris... and perhaps a villa on the hills of le Marche.

HRHCavey · 11/10/2010 17:06

Ah, I know just the estate agent in our local town for you ladies. Can I tempt you with THIS @ £4.5million

Or Perhaps THIS @ poa

And what about, my favourite THIS, again POA.

Now where did I put that lottery ticket Hmm

Fimbo · 11/10/2010 17:15

I would build my own house with no immediate neighbours (bliss) and jet around the world to various townhouses whenever the mood took me.

I'd buy up all the hideous 4ft square sets of 12 flats that have been built when there used to be a nice family house with a garden...knock down all the tiny horrid flats (with no garden) and reinstate a family house with nice garden...or just plant lots of trees.

3 bed family homes with gardens are £500k in this area...mainly because they are not enough of them, due to so many being knocked down to build tiny flats.

sethstarkaddersmum · 11/10/2010 17:42

OP - no-one is going to want Howsham Hall because they've turned the stables into houses and sold them off - anyone with that much money is going to want privacy, not a housing estate in their front garden.

the local rich idiots in my village have done something similar - they've built 2 5-bed houses literally in the front garden of their Victorian rectory prior to putting it on the market for 1.1 million Hmm

the house I want belongs to the National Trust but with 112 million I expect I could make them an offer they couldn't refuse Smile

ivykaty44 · 11/10/2010 17:47

I would buy myself a coffee shop in Leamington, to serve the most wonderful blends of coffee with delicous cakes and pastries and magnificent hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmelo, probaby get a liquor licence for baileys in the coffeeWink

VivaLeBeaver · 11/10/2010 17:51

That Graffham house is nice, looks like there's a polo field in the back garden. Very Jilly Cooperesque.

I would have \link{http://www.humphreys-skitt.com/Property/Residential/TLH.aspx\this} and invite Kevin McCloud round for coffee...

Riven, is Kensington your cup of tea?

HRHCavey · 11/10/2010 19:04

Or even this

Note - it says POA, but the house below it in the Rightmove list has an asking price of £40million!!!!!!!

Perhaps the Euromillions win won't stretch that far after all?!!!
