Replacement sash windows

I have a buy to let maisonette in West London. I am looking into replacing the sash windows and wondered if any could give me any recommendations or advice.

It's a purpose built maisonette from the 1820s and the front windows are quite distinctive in style and all the other houses have kept that style. I think it might be in a conversation area but can't understand the council website; I have e-mailed their planning department to see if I need to do a like-for-like replacement but have had no answer a week later.

Any thoughts?

I'd call your planning office as you should be able to get an answer over the phone.

If you do need to match the original windows (and I think you should anyway as it sounds as if they are a special feature), then I would ask a few local joiners for quotes as this is usually cheaper than using window companies and they usually do a good job.

You could ask the planning officer for recommendations and neighbours etc.
