Got a kitchen firm coming to have a look at our kitchen next week- what should I be asking them?

We moved into a new house a few months ago and are now looking at getting the kitchen redone. We would want two walls (the wall between the kitchen and dining room and the wall between the dining room and random nothing room) knocking down to make one large kitchen diner.

What should be asking the firm who are coming to 'look at the space' on saturday?

Are they going to do the building work, or just sell you the kitchen? You need to know who will do the various skilled jobs - building/knocking down walls, leveling floors between three rooms, plumbing, electrics, tiling, plastering, laying flooring etc if that's what you're having. If they do everything, check they will 'project manage' ie co-ordinate it all so it happens in the right order. Otherwise you might have to arrange all the different workmen yourself, which can be tricky.
Ask re appliances if you're replacing any - can they supply, if so what brands, then compare prices online. Same with sink and taps. Also work surfaces - what kind do you want and what can they offer/ recommend? Some kitchen firms are happy for you to get your own stuff if they can't match online prices, and then they will fit it for you. You also need to decide what sort of kitchen you want ie wood, painted, shiny modern etc. and what layout like do you want an island or breakfast bar. I've got a little desk area built into my kitchen for laptop, phone, bills etc. Works really well and I can see what DCs are up to online!
