Am just wondering because the bedrooms need doingagain for various reasons after just 3 years, is this the norm ?
We've never lived in a house for more than 3 years before Blush

er - hardly ever - once a year sooz - seems extreme !

Lived in our last house for 10 years (bought brand new) and we re-painted the kitchen, living room & hall once (I say 'we' - I mean we got a decorator in Grin). Didn't do bedrooms or bathrooms at all Blush.

Do you live near me sooz - you sound very efficient and organised - I am impressed Smile.

I think that's where I went wrong having a white bedroom I thought not allowing the kids in would keep it nice but DH has split tea all down one wall and not cleaned it up and the plumber put a mucky hand on another and that won't come off either.
So we start again.

I'm so glad this has come up. Dp thought I was being very Hmm for re decorating every three years, as apparently his parents did it every 15-20 Shock, and it ended up in a big row. Am so glad I am the normal one!!! Grin

There are children in the house, it needs it!!!!

Don't redecorate as such but we always keep a tin of paint for each room to do touch up and what nots.

DH's family redecorate ALOT!

main bedroom & ensuite - soonish after we moved in 10 years ago.
ds1's bedroom - soonish after we moved in, it was a nursery and we had no kids at the time
2 other bedrooms - never been done, both builder's magnolia (about 11/12 years old)

All could probably do with a repaint.

Bathroom - not done by us, but was painted by previous owners who had the house for about 18 months from new.

Hall, stairs & landing - we did it about 8 years ago, and I gave it a fresh coat this year (only because I had an extension and needed to decorate the new plaster, but it did look SO much better).

Lounge - very recently done due to extension, had been done twice before (in 10 years) when we fancied a colour change.

Dining room - not done by us, but was painted by previous owners.

Kitchen - painted by us about 7 years ago when the conservatory was put on.

Utility - never done.

Generally about every 5 years for each room I'd guess. For our bathroom though, 4 times in 3 years, it never looked right Grin
