Exchanging and completing question

Hope someone can help.

We are moving from Austria back to the UK.Our buyers(from the UK)have been keeping us hanging on forever. At the moment they are saying that they expect to exchange on their property next week and complete at the end of the month. At this stage would you know the date of exchange or not? We just end up feeling like they are keeping us in the dark regarding their sale and we can't get on with anything until we know for definite that it's all going through.

Really only on the day although the solicitor should have a fair indication of reaching that point slightly earlier. Biut if they are in a chain they all need to be ready at once and coordinate the legalities, which can be more tricky. You'll find plenty of MNetters who have been promised exchange on one date then it hasn't happened at last minute.
