Just the 2 bathrooms but in the big shower dh wanted the fixed head like the one you like. We have it flush to the ceiling. Which looks fab but an absolute nightmare for me! I don't always want my hair wet and cleaning the cubicle with a fixed head would be tricky. So we have both ceiling and wall, hence the two controls.

I'm happy, he's happy and it's easy to clean, slight extravagance but we're both happy with it.

I'm having terrible bathroom envy now. I've got three and they are all equally hideous and crap. Sad

Alouiseg · 03/10/2010 15:38

Still waiting for mirrors, paint and filler though.

I need a mirror with lighting and demisting that isn't naff. Any recommendations??

FellatioNelson · 03/10/2010 16:04

WE needs pics Alouiseg. Grin I'm going to fantasise about your bathrooms in the absence of a decent one myself.

Alouiseg · 03/10/2010 16:25

I posted some shower valve ones on Twitter to Leningrad, but until the decorator has been I'm not doing the whole Homes & Gardens spread.

Find me some poncetastic mirrors Fellatio, with lights and demisters.

FellatioNelson · 03/10/2010 16:48

Oh I see - we have to wait for the full finished effect. Quite right too - a girl after my own heart.Grin

FellatioNelson · 03/10/2010 16:52

Have you tried Keuco? They are fab. There is a big bathroom showroom in Witham called Daman's that always has loads on display. We had a beautiful mirrored cabinet from there - I could dry-hump it all day it was so nice. (old house, obviously - not current house with crap bathrooms and newly impoverished state of bank balance.)

Alouiseg · 03/10/2010 17:08

Googling now. Thank you x

FellatioNelson · 03/10/2010 17:27

They do lots of makes there and have really good displays so it's worth going to have a look. Similar to Nicholas Anthony but not quite so OTT on price and design.

Alouiseg · 03/10/2010 18:01

They look really nice, will be having a little jaunt to Witham tomorrow I imagine.

I think shower/wet rooms are now overtaken kitchens are the sexist part of the house?

This is my dream thread at the moment, as bathroom refurb is about to kick off! Currently our ensuite has a non-functioning loo, a basin with hot tap only, a shower with a cubicle door which no longer closes, green carpet tiles, zig-zag wallpaper and ACRES of pine. Looks like a 1970s B&B.

I agree with the comments about fixed head showers always getting your hair wet; we've gone for the adjustable one so the dcs can use it too.

Alouiseg - I'm also on the hunt for nice mirrors - found some on the internet here. We want demisting, a decent back-light and a sensor on/off switch, and these seem to do the job. Don't know if they qualify as "poncetastic".

Alouiseg · 03/10/2010 18:48

Thank you MrsDepp i shall have a look.

TDaDa · 03/10/2010 19:47

you can combine fixed shower with detachable head

TheNextMrsDepp · 03/10/2010 23:28

Yes, TDaDa, but that one doesn't have a pump so would be insufferably weedy for us. Believe me, I pretty much researched them all! We can't have a pump by our hot water tank (technical reasons....) so need it as part of the shower.

TDaDa · 04/10/2010 00:17

TheNextMrsDepp - thanks for the mirrors

We went for this Mira Shower and are happy with it. I am paranoid about the valves going wrong hence the choice of exposed valves. We installed Mira Excel at previous house and that was a great performer. We have megaflow in our house so pressure is not a problem
