Anyone live in Exmouth or know Exmouth well?

I live in a HA property and have been looking at doing an exchange in Devon area.
I have been contacted by someone in Exmouth and i have no idea what areas in Exmouth are like or what schools i should be having a look into.

I am in Somerset and have only actually been to Exmouth on holiday this year (Haven Devon Cliffs) but love the Exmouth/Dawlish area.

Any help from someone in the area or whole knows the area would be very much appreciated.
