ideas to vamp up my huge divan bed

Hi,

I've just bought a super king size bed, as my husband is very tall. We went for a divan bed as we thought anything else would take up too much room in the bedroom. The problem is, the mattress is extra deep and the whole thing looks really too high and seems humongous in the room. It is also quite boring (no headboard, white walls, etc). Any ideas to make the most of it? Or shall I return the whole thing (have a couple of days left to do so)?

Please help, this bed cost a fortune and I'm so disappointed about the way it looks...

Some funky new bed linen would look great.

If you don't want a headboard, you could paint a design on the wall above the bed to add interest or invest with some large cushions.

I really like the fitted valances that you can get for divan beds. However I would need a headboard as well. Look at The White Company for some ideas.

You can get upholstered headboards made which attach directly onto the wall instead of the bed. I recently stayed in a hotel where the headboard went about 3/4 of the way up the wall. Very dramatic.

Viggo Mortensen maybe? Sean Bean? Naked? Sprawled?
