I am renovating a ski lodge which I will rent out...I really need some advice on colours etc. The main floor is one room 5x6 m which will have a sofa, kitchen and dining table - all open plan. The room is quite dark so the plan was to piant it all white with a pale greyish/white stone floor. I want the kitchen to be kind of invisible and not to dominate the room also the kitchen is in the darkest back corner of the room with no windows in this area - so I also need it to reflect and bounce light about and not suck more light in. Was thinking of painted pale grey units would this work...what F&B colour should I go for?....or should I go for a white laminate type kitchen for more light?...I am a bit worried that this might look "cheap"?...I also want it to be cosy and warm so will have to think a warm colour for the sofa...any ideas?...I want to have a slightly french feel

We have terracotta tiles on the floor and an old slouchy terracotta sofa in our kitchen and it looks lovely and welcoming. The units are F&B chinese blue, and the walls F&B new white. Oak table/ benches/ chairs. If it's an old house I wouldn't go for the shiny modern units; I think they're a bit characterless.
