I'm getting a new backdoor and I have somebody come and fit the door. I bought the door online and I just read that the door needs to be treated and protected before hung. Am I supposed to do this after I ask him to hang the door? unhang it after he fits it in, base coat and topcoat it?? Or do they come and do it all for me? He charged about £90 to hang the door so I'm assuming that he does this all. so confused...

DP is a builder and he says that for £90.00 it's unlikely the guy hanging your back door will treat and decorate it.

If you ask him very nicely he might treat the top and bottom and behind hinges and locks then you can do the rest yourself without having to take the door off again.

oh that's great idea. I'll ask him. Thanks very much!
