Can anyone recommend a website where you can enter a sale price from say 2005, and then see what the market movement in that are says the value should be now?EG enter postcode and it tells you properties have risen x % since a certain date? Thanks.

You need to go to the Land Registry website and enter your postcode and then choose among the various options /area to compare prices for various types of properties in different time periods or even between different areas.

The Land Registry data is based on actual transactions NOT just asking prices like say Rightmove.

Click on the 'House Price Index' link at top right to access the relevant page anthen follow the steps.

Thanks, very helpful, esp the land registry data. Zoopla looks quite addictive!
