Blinds for privacy

My neighbours recently chopped down their hedge and we now stare straight into eachothers windows (not my choice - am Angry but nothing we can do).

We are planting trees and growing the garden up but until this happens we will have to put up with the loss of our privacy Sad
I want to get some blinds rather than net curtains as I'm not a big fan of nets. Can anyone recommend anything that allows light through but still lets me prance around in the nude (not really but I would like the option nonetheless!)..

Slatted venetian blinds or shutters are best IMO.
Out bedroom windows are overlooked and after much research and dithering, this is what we have chosen.
Sheers (cotton not nylon nets) do the job but mean you cannot see out which I find a bit oppressive.

Order your trees and it wont be an issue for long!

you could get that misted film that you put on the window. have a look at brume or similar.

Ha ha teambiscuit - that would stop them peeping! Thanks, misted film could be an option - I'll take a look...

Oh and I have ordered my trees now Pannacotta - just got to wait a few more years until they grow Sad

We have shutters (English Shutter Co., iirc) on all street facing windows downstairs - love them. you can tilt them upwards so light comes in, but people can't see past the blades...and they look lovely. They do cut the light down though (ours are South facing, so no problem there).

we have voile roller blinds (completely plain opaque white) which sit just inside the window frame under the 'decorative' fabric blinds. they let in loads of light, and you can see out a bit through them but nobody can see in from outside. they are very clean, modern and unobtrusive.
