oak veneer

Hi everybody,
I have a simple query..what do i do about a bedside table that i bought thinking it was oak veneer and found it to be oak effect? I can't return it so what else can i do? is there a way to paint it so it looks like the oak veneer furniture it is meant to ,atch? i am so lost! It was my silly mistake and i so wosh i could fix it Sad
I would REALLY appreciate any advice!

It doesn't sound like an easy thing to fix. The only thing I can think of is to direct you towards a woodwork forum I use www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums. Obviously you'd have to join the forum to post but it's a busy place and there's a lot of expertise there - lots of professional cabinet makers post there.
