I'm so over selling our apartment which has been on the market since April. We've accepted three different offers since then. Two were full asking price offers which we received within 24 hours of being on the market- both have since fallen through; one due to buyer's chain, the other due to personal reasons. The third offer was for 9% below asking price which we accepted as we were assured a quick cash sale, but just found out today that our buyers have decided to rent in our area instead. Grrr......I feel like we have had a major run of bad luck...just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation with a positive ending? I just want to get out of London!

I sympathise, but we are at the other end. Trying to sell a 5-bed detached village property. Its even harder than selling in London, the market is so uncertain and there are buyers in rented who just want a bargain, and will offer silly money.
It seems the whole world is in rented accommodation; this must surely end somewhere.
At least you are getting offers; out here in the sticks there just is no money to go around.
Sorry to disillusion you but we have been trying to sell since Feb with only 2 offers: 1 fell through and 1 we rejected as being too low.

My parents are selling in Scotland, they have had a fair few viewings but no offers, doesn't help that they love their house and don't see the faults i.e. nobody wants polysterene (sorry sp) tiles on ceilings or swirly carpets etc etc.

My symphaties! We're selling in London too, flat has been on the market since May and have had 4 offers - they've all fallen through! When we accepted our last offer I didn't even get excited, I sort of felt until we have exchanged contracts there's no point. And unfortunately I was right, buyers pulled out week later.. We'll be actually taking it off the market until spring..
Sorry, nothing positive here but just wanted to let you know there's somebody with the same problem and absolutely understands how you feel!!

Oh dear, rather depressing stories all around plus just noticed another thread on the very same topic. pretty pirate four times, I can't believe it...Anyway must think positively...We have a viewing tomorrow. I am just so over keeping our house spotless, what with a toddler running around like a mentalist. Oh, and not having to think about property at all would be nice, it's totally consuming my life!
