Architect North Wiltshire ish area

Has anyone used a good architect in the North Wiltshire area ? I need to remodel the downstairs of our house to create a much bigger kitchen. Although the house isn't listed, it has a lot of character so I'm not after some glass and steel modern look to the work - more something softer with oak/wood.

Hello, I'm an architect in Bucks if thats any help?!

Go on line to architecture.com, which is the RIBA website and they will be able to direct you to suitable architects in your area. This is assuming you can't get a referral from a friend - always best if you can get a recommendation.

Good luck with your refurb.

thanks Stripey - do you have a website ?
Thanks for the tip, I will look on line. We are new to the area so I don't have any recommendations unfortunately.

Not yet, have recently set up on my own and the website is a work in progress!

Hi there

we're in nw wilts (not far outside bath) and have recently dabbled in thoughts of a kitchen/diner extension type thingy.

ours was/is a simpler job, as there was only so much i could do within the limitations of our house and therefore won't be using an architect, but i did see some interesting example of traditional and modern additions to some nice houses in our area.

i just googled them to be honest but here are two examples

www.hetreedross.com/

www.architectssomerset.co.uk/page/house_extensions

i'm sure if you search on yellow pages or suchlike you'll see some examples of the thing you were thinking of, then it's just a case of phoning people and picking up bits of knowledge that way. three or four i spoke to had time to talk over the phone and then they were keen to pop over for half an hour and run through options as they saw them.

good luck with it
