A long shot in this topic but its worth asking! Will also post in SN.

Does anyone know who to contact to get advice on acoustics in the home? Our new family room is awful and our ds can't hear in there and I dread to think how loud the tv will have to be in there for him to hear it!!

Should say that our ds is deaf and is aided, hence the problem.

Have you done the usual things with soft furnishing: curtains, cushions, rugs etc?

The NDCS might have some info on this. If not, check out the chat boards on their website.

The room isn't finished yet. We obviously will do the soft furnishings things but tbh the ceiling is SOOOO high its just not going to help a lot. Plus its such a large room (8.5mx4m). Its all glass on one of the 8.5m walls as well. Can only put curtains on half of it.

I'll call NDCS tomorrow for some advice. I have posted on the chat boards.
