Need some ideas to decorate our living room, its a long thin room (18 ft by 10ft) and has alot of light (2 windows and patio door). What colours are in at the moment? Tempted to wall paper on wall with busy wall paper and paint the rest.

What colours are your living rooms?

Two walls are 'stone' (aka beige) and the other two walls are the most fab and beautiful wallpaper that has a light tealy blue background covered with darker teal birds, some in beige 'stone' coloured cages and some free, there are also a few sprigs of leaves/flowers in the same beige stone colour too. Sounds a bit erm........whacky/hideous but it really is lovely. Carpet is a mid/dark beige and curtains are teal, sofa is cream with some teal and beige accent cushion.

Almond white but with a deep red chimney breast!

Neutral.

F&B Stony Ground. A warm toned beige colour, looks slightly paler on my north facing room walls.

Room is 20ftx20ft and one wall is pretty much covered by an enormous 16ft bay window, so even though it is north facing it is light (albeit cold light, hence the warm tone chosen for the wall).

Pink here! but want to redec it in cream...

jollydiane · 02/09/2010 22:43

Light blue and I love it. No white here.

White walls and Laminate floor. I am under the illusion I am living in a poncy minimalist house.

oblomov same here, all white walls in every room and laminate floor, except for a beige stair carpet.

Yellow. This yellow to be precise. With lots of white, and wooden floors. It's lovely.

A very pale olive green. White skirting boards and an oak floor. Beige sofa, brown leather chair, wooden blinds. It's south facing with a door onto the garden so it sort of links the garden to the house. /ponce

I have three dark teal walls, and a 'feature wall' which has wallpaper on. It's a copper/gold/chocolate colour and it's lovely. Chocolate sofa's and curtains with hints of copper.

Elephant's Breath (F+B, as if you couldn't guess with a name like that). Previous owners chose it and it's good but not great in this room.

LadyBiscuit · 02/09/2010 23:03

:o at Elephants Breath. And I thought being called Stone White (when it's green) was bad enough

Walls are 'natural calico' (which is basically magnolia Grin) with the fireplace wall painted 'Cookie Dough' which is a coffee colour.

It is the first time we have had neutral colours and to be honest it is not really me. We are about to put the house up for sale and if we ever manage to move then i'll probably go for something with a bit more colour next time.

PurplePillow · 02/09/2010 23:20

Mine is antique lace (cream) and chimney breast is red to match my leather sofa Grin
