Are we mad to want to move to Bury??

From the heart of Manchester, we're really seriously considering moving to Bury. Smaller town, cleaner, safer, better for DD, blah blah.

Anyone from Bury? Anyone KNOW anyone from Bury? Anyone know Bury?!
Any opinions and advice welcome!

Thanks for the links everyone, they're really helpful to get a picture of whats available, and for the advice on all the different areas; Ive noted them all down for further investigation!

There are only three of us at the moment. Me, DH and DD..but we're trying for DC2, so we really want a house with at least 3 bedrooms.

Im sure I could push DH to 160,000 if we found something we really loved..

guys guys, what about fishpool/limefield?? Is it nice? Ive seen a house about 2 minutes away from the bury grammar schools and Im getting excited!
