It should be on my profile now.

B'gorra, it's gorgeous!

What's the panel on the roof?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 30/08/2010 21:43

Lovely view.

Pluto · 30/08/2010 21:44

Wow! Lucky you. It's about 4 times bigger than Pluto's pad.

Happy new home :)

bran · 30/08/2010 21:44

It's a skylight which shines down into the hallway. I'll put up a picture of the hallway so you can see, it's hard to explain.

lovely house
am very Envy

are you new to dublin ?

bran · 30/08/2010 21:52

Hall photo up now.

I'm originally a Dub ggirl, but I've just returned here after 20 years away. It's a bit odd, but quite nice. I think the rain mostly holding off for the last week has had quite a positive effect on my mood tbh, I would probably be questionning my decision if it had been raining non-stop. Wink

Lovely; great views!

BelligerentGhoul · 30/08/2010 21:54

Gorgeous - love the hallway.

bran · 30/08/2010 21:55

It was the views that sold it I think. I came to see it with DH and the weather was foul and we couldn't see anything at all and DH wasn't too keen. Then a couple of days later I came again with my Mum and the weather was clear. So then I had to persuade DH that he would like the house. He didn't see it again until we moved in.

It's lovely! Congratulations on the move and all the best to you.

(We met at a Canary Wharf lunch years ago)

FiveGoMadInDorset · 30/08/2010 21:59

The hallway looks amazing.

I remember you OldestCat. Grin

Thanks for all your kind comments. It has been a bit of a rollercoaster to get this far. We were buying a gorgeous house that we couldn't really afford, and it fell through at the last minute as one of the vendors tragically died unexpectedly. So then we only had summer half-term to find another house or resign ourselves to renting. We looked at loads, found this one, agreed a price and all went swimmingly until our solicitor discovered that the road (which is private) had never been registered with the land registry, and so wasn't owned by anybody. We only exchanged 3 weeks before completion date, which was a little tense.
