Is there such a thing...

...as a nice/acceptable toilet pedestal mat? I hate them personally, but we have a wooden floor in the downstairs loo, and it has got such a poweful flush that it sprays the floor every time. It's now started to smell a bit 'off' despite me mopping regularly. So, I need a pedestal mat - help me!

I just have a normal square mat that I lay near the toilet. Works for us but I guess it depends how far the splashes go!!

I always shut the lid before I flush a normal loo.

We also have water-saving flushes fitted retrospectively into our loos, which might help your problem. The water goes in more slowly, so it doesn't spray up in the same way.

Dont get a mat, just close the lid every time you flush and yes try changing the flush, you can put a water hippo in the cistern yourself which means less water is used with each flush
