We are coming back to the uk! I'm so excited, but we now face the problem of finding a suitable house to buy.

We've plumped for Surrey as DH needs the commute to Waterloo to be 45 mins max each way. I'm from Kent and we've lived in Bristol for years so we are searching without advice.

I am searching for a 4 bed (no terrace), close to a train station, with a nice pawned garden.

I'm also looking at Surbiton way or even Kent but it has to be a fairly short commute.

It's so hard to search for houses in these circumstances. Thank god for Google Streetview!!

Lawned...sigh. When did I ever write pawned for it to be prompted? Random.

Budget? School requirement?

Sorry - I forgot details. £500k max to spend and DS1 is 5 1/2yo. He's been in Kindergarten the last three years but is frankly bored with the lack of schooling. DS2 is 2 1/2yo.

I'm not sure $500k will get you a decent 4 beds in Surbiton. Have you had a good look on Rightmove? We had a look there a while ago and decided to come a bit further out. What about Walton on Thames or Hersham? My friend is selling her 4 bed detached Victorian terrace in Walton for approx £500k. Close to train station, excellent local school and new town centre.

Do look further out Woking has lots of trains about 30 min, Guildford has a few at 40 min. Or do you mean 45 from call to Waterloo? Is he a Doctor? If so you may nbeed to be even closer in.
