We are moving in about 3 weeks to the next village (only 5 km away) to a new build. Builder finally gave us the date of Friday 10th September (bit tight though, so a few small things might not be ready...)

So, school is due to start on Tuesday 14th September. 2 dc will have their 1st day at new school in new village, other 2 dc remain at their places here in old village.

Under pressure from new people who want to be in asap into this current house we are renting. their dc also due to start in the same schools my dc attending.

We gave notice from end September, so technically have till 30th September so could move whenever we wanted up to that date, but due to smallish communities and our kids all attending same schools, likely to see each other a lot, plus they've just moved here from overseas and their 2 kids also starting new schools at same time so I understand them wanting to be in asap and want to be accomodating.a shite time for moving, but given the 14th is 1st day of school, when would be a good day Confused ?

The Monday 13th is stupid idea given school starting the next day. (isn't it?) Is the Wednesday the 15th also stupid? Am wondering about inviting grandad over. Or is having a (helping) guest at thet time madness?

Or should I just stop worrying about the new people and do it slowly a week later? But then Oktoberfest is on and it'd be v difficult and expensive for them to get a hotel at this time....
