Ok, currently live in Wilmslow, Cheshire. DH in Manchester 3 weeks out of 4 then in the States for a week each month. However, soon to be based in London again.

So there's me and 3kids aged 6, 4 and 2 and I'm just fed up of where I live. Fed up of huge mortgage with modest house and smallish garden. Fed up of how money talks up here and want a simpler life (if it exists!)
Maybe looking at home counties or south coast areas such as Worthing. Not so keen on Surrey as have lived there previously.

Ok, wish list Grin
-I want semi-rural but not isolated.
-At least an acre but with trees etc in garden.
-Good schools close by.
-Possibly near the coast (not a necessity but I like the idea of it)
-To spend less than we do now on mortgage. (I know, I know!)

Any ideas? Smile

We're in W. Sussex, 20 miles from Worthing in a market town. It's fantastic and also only 38 miles to London (dh commutes). We have only been here for 4 weeks, having relocated from the suburbs of London and are loving it. Good schools aplenty.

Oh pcworld that sounds great. Would I get close to what I want for about 600k?

You can get a mansion here on the Isle of Wight for 600k

I'm sure you would - and there are many villages on the perimiter that would probably get you the garden size you want. In town, this could be more tricky. But I have to say, we absolutely love it here - and dh is London born and bred, me from N Ireland originally having lived in the big smoke for 22 years - so it was huge risk. We head down to the coast a lot, tis 25 mins to Worthing/Goring, 40 to Brighton Smile

I think you're selling it to me, pcworld. Smile When the DCs were very little I wanted to be walking distance to town so I could walk with the buggy but now we no longer need that and 2 of the 3 arer at school then I'm happy to be a bit further out.
