I am in the process of decorating my DSs bedroom, and the previous colour on one of the walls was darkish blue. This is to be covered over with a matt green colour.
Thinking the blue would make the green dark if I just painted on top, last night I undercoated the wall in a white emulsion, which was a silk (what I was doing ceiling in)
As it was 6pm on a sunday and no shops were open, I had to make do, but now I am going over the wall in the green, and the coverage is shite
The green isn't going on well over the white

Will it look shiny once I get a few coats up?
Was it bloody stupid to undercoat the wall in a silk?
Have done all my own decorating, and feel I have made my first ever school boy error....!
